Universidad de Cantabria
Current research activities and specific skills:
The group at the University of Cantabria has developed techniques for the schedulability analysis of embedded distributed systems with real-time requirements, as well as software engineering methodologies and tools for these systems. The group has developed a hard real-time kernel, called MaRTE OS, which is compliant with the POSIX minimum real-time system profile, and provides advanced support for flexible scheduling. It has also developed network protocols for hard-real-time communication.
Specific contributions and role in the project:
The group will contribute to the project with its main four research activities: system design methods for embedded distributed systems, flexible scheduling,real-time operating system implementation, and hard-real-time network protocols. It will act also as coordinator for the FRESCOR consortium.
Suitability and commitment to the assigned tasks:
The group has 5 permanent staff and 7 research assistants. Through its results, the group has demonstrated that it has enough resources to carry out research activities in the areas mentioned above. These areas are central to the proposed project activities.
