Visual Tools S.A. has developed advanced hardware and software platforms for digital video storage and transmission. The software platforms allow for a component-based development of digital video equipment using third-party modules, some with artificial vision capabilities. They are based on Linux and RTLinux and they use quality of service techniques developed in research projects to enable an efficient use of the available resources.

The group will contribute to the project with its expertise in advanced real-time embedded platforms for video applications, in particular, using the ARM (Xscale) processor and special purpose processors for video processing. It will contribute to the requirements analysis phase to ensure the alignment of the project research with the market requirements. Finally, it will validate the project methodology and techniques by applying it in a real case.

The company has participated in national and international projects in the area of real-time embedded systems, component-based systems and artificial vision. The use of the technologies addressed by the project is considered essential by the company to develop competitive products in the digital video market in the years to come.
